Connect Salesforce
With Salesforce connected, the agent can query records, search and write with your approval. It uses your own Salesforce user, with its permissions.
Connect your account
Section titled “Connect your account”- In the sidebar, go to Customize → Connectors and open Discover.
- Find Salesforce and tap the +.
- Sign in to Salesforce if it asks and authorize.
- Back in nouter, Salesforce shows in Yours. It works in any conversation, with no re-authorizing.
What it can do
Section titled “What it can do”- Read: queries, searches and the schema happen right away.
- Write: creating, editing or deleting records waits for your approval (Why it asks for your approval).
The permissions you have in Salesforce apply. To disconnect or change what the agent sees, see Disconnect an account.
Share a project that uses Salesforce
Section titled “Share a project that uses Salesforce”A project that reads from Salesforce can be shared, even if it reads a lot (a dashboard over the whole org, for example). Whoever opens it connects their own Salesforce account, and nouter checks, with that account, that they can see everything the project read, records and fields (Verify your access). If Salesforce doesn’t show them that, or their account is in another Salesforce org, they can’t get in.
The more the person can see, the faster they get in: if they can see the whole object (for example, because they have the View All permission on it), the check is almost instant. If they see only part of it, they still get in when that part includes everything the project read.
nouter remembers for 1 hour that someone passed the check. If a person loses a permission in Salesforce, they may keep getting into the project for up to an hour; after that, they don’t. What the project reads later is always checked on the spot.
While the project is shared, it can only read what everyone in it can see. If you ask for something someone in the project can’t see, the read is blocked, for you too, and the notice says who blocks it: «This observation was blocked because Ana can’t see data it contains. Remove them from the workspace or narrow the read.» To read it, remove that person from the project or narrow the query so it brings only what everyone can see.
